Snow queen scene maker mlp prinnsess1/5/2024 In the hour-long special My Little Pony: Make Your Mark, taking place months after the events of A New Generation, Sunny and her friends live happily in Maretime Bay, with all three pony races living together. When they do, the crystals activate, causing Sunny to transform into an Alicorn, and magic returns to Equestria. Returning to Maretime Bay in despair, Sunny discovers the existence of a third crystal among her father's old belongings, and in her efforts to rejoin her friends, she gets swept up in a destructive plot to wage war against unicorns and Pegasi orchestrated by Hitch's overzealous deputy Sprout.Īfter the destruction Sprout causes, Sunny urges the separated pony races to come together as friends again. In Izzy's hometown of Bridlewood, Sunny and her friends acquire the Unicorn Crystal from Alphabittle, but nothing happens when the two crystals are joined together. With Zipp's help, Sunny and Izzy steal the Pegasus Crystal from the crown of Zipp's mother Queen Haven and in the process end up recruiting Zipp's sister Pipp Petals as well as the pursuant Hitch in their quest to bring magic back to Equestria. Upon arriving in Zephyr Heights, Sunny and Izzy are imprisoned but soon freed by crown princess Zipp Storm, who reveals Pegasi do not have magic either and believes the reason for this to be the separation of two magical crystals. Upon learning that unicorns do not have any magic, Sunny teams up with Izzy to seek answers in the Pegasus city of Zephyr Heights. When the unicorn Izzy Moonbow visits Maretime Bay one day and causes a citywide panic, Sunny hides her at her lighthouse home, to the chagrin of her childhood friend and Maretime Bay sheriff Hitch Trailblazer. Years later, after her father Argyle Starshine has passed away, Sunny works as a smoothie seller in Maretime Bay and tries to spread the message of friendship and pony unity to other Earth ponies, though her words are usually ignored. She dreams of one day meeting and becoming friends with a unicorn and a Pegasus, even though her fellow Earth ponies view the other pony races as enemies. In the film My Little Pony: A New Generation, Sunny first appears as a filly, having grown up with stories of Twilight Sparkle and her friends spreading friendship and harmony in ancient Equestria. She is sometimes called Sunny Starshine in the film and described as "the new princess of Equestria" in some third-party merchandise. She is a female Earth pony resident of Maretime Bay who dreams of making the world a better place and bringing magic and harmony back to Equestria after it disappeared a long time ago. Silver blue labradoodle1/5/2024 This results in a much more allergy friendly coat. This produces a 25/75 cross between the two founding breeds. Most first generation dogs shed to some degree.įirst generation backcross Labradoodles (F1b) are the result of breeding a first generation (F1) Labradoodle back to a Poodle. A very good family pet, yet not always allergy friendly. Hybrid vigor is the phenomenon that the first cross between two unrelated purebred lines is healthier and grows better than either parent line. This cross results in “hybrid vigor”, as well as a wide variety of coats and overall features. This produces a 50/50 cross between the two founding breeds. First generation Labradoodles (F1) are the result of breeding a Labrador Retriever with a Poodle. They have also given severe allergy sufferers a new alternative, allowing many of them the ability to own and enjoy a dog of their own for the first time. They have great personalities, are very smart and easily trained. Sultan was the first recognized Labradoodle.įor over twenty years Labradoodles have made excellent service dogs as well as family pets. Little did he know that he was the beginning of a wonderful breed of dogs. Of the three that were born, one of the pups proved to have an allergy friendly coat as well as a temperament that would make him a compatible guide dog. Three puppies were the result of this breeding. The GDAV Guide Dog Services bred Harley, a Standard Poodle to Brandy, a Labrador Retriever in hope that they could solve this problem. Pat was in dire need of a service dog but her circumstances made it impossible due to the fact that her husband was highly allergic to dogs. The Guide Dogs Victoria took the challenge per request of a vision-impaired woman by the name of Pat Blum of Hawaii. The history of the Labradoodle originated in Australia during the late 1980’s. When bred for health, conformity, and betterment of the breeds, Doodles are known for characteristics that make them an ideal family pet, namely:īred to Exact Breed Standards.Once part of your family, they will become a loving member for life! In later more recent years, Golden Retrievers were bred with Poodles to expand upon the success of the Labradoodle. The result, with the infusion of four other breeds, (American and English Cocker Spaniel, Irish Water Spaniel, and Irish Soft Coated Wheaton), was this fantastic lovable creature called the Australian Labradoodle. Originally bred as guide dogs, health and intelligence was also selected for which to breed. This wonderful cross between the friendly Labrador Retriever and the Standard Poodle was created to develop a low-shedding, more allergy friendly breed of dog.

Though larger keys can be created, the increased computational burden is so significant that keys larger than 2048 bits are rarely used. 2048-bit keys have enough unique encryption codes that we won’t write out the number here (it’s 617 digits). However, keys smaller than 2048 bits are no longer considered safe to use. The most common asymmetric encryption algorithm is RSA however, we will discuss algorithms later in this article.Īsymmetric keys are typically 1024 or 2048 bits. This way only the intended receiver can decrypt the message. However,ĭecryption keys (private keys) are secret. Anyone can use the encryption key (public key) to encrypt a message. Not sure you understand the basics of SSL Certificates and technology? Learn about SSL Certificates > Asymmetric EncryptionĪsymmetric encryption (or public-key cryptography) uses a separate key for encryption and decryption. It also covers different types of algorithms that are used to create these keys-including the mathematical equations that make them virtually impossible to crack. To establish this secure connection, the browser and the server need an SSL Certificate.īut how is this accomplished? How is data encrypted so that no one-including the world’s biggest super computers-can crack it? C 41 developing1/4/2024 The ISO is just as an example - the same times will work for a push/pull of any color film regardless of the ISO or make. Here are the developing time adjustments when pushing and pulling. Color film has extremely good overexposure latitude compared to B&W and does not need to be pulled to control excessive highlight development. It’s important to note that even though you can pull film more than one stop, most developers won’t do it - even if they shoot the film 3 stops overexposed, they will usually only pull the film by 1 stop. The stop, bleach, and fix steps will remain the same, no matter how far you push or pull. Add 30% to the developing time when pushing, or remove 20% of the developing time when pulling the film. The general rule for pushing color film is the same as for pushing and pulling black and white film. The instructions in general are fairly short and don’t go into nearly as much detail as the Arista, Cinestill, or Tetenal kit instructions do. The only other problem that I have found with the Flic Film kit is that it does not give proper instructions for pushing and pulling the film, or for reusing the developer passed the initial rated 8 or 16 rolls (for the 500ml and 1L kits respectively). But for the extra capacity and control, this time cost is negligible. With the Flic Film kits, it takes me about 30 minutes when all is said and done. With a blix kit, I can get through a round of C41 developing in about 20 minutes start to finish. While the steps themselves only take an additional minute at the most, the extra rinses easily eat up a lot of time during the development. The main downside of using the Flic Film C41 developer is that it does take longer to process a single roll of film. Are there any downsides to the Flic Film kit? The biggest difference between the Flic Film kit and regular C41 kits is that it takes longer to develop a single round of film, and requires 5 bottles instead of 3. The chemicals require the same temperatures and development times as a typical C41 kit, making it a familiar process for anyone who has developed color film at home before. The developer creates beautiful results that are indistinguishable from a regular blix kit or Kodak Flexicolor chemicals. The Flic Film developer is based on a classic, tried, and true lab formula. This is what the box looks like for Flic Film’s 500ml C41 color developer. The box comes with separate packages for each step, with the powdered developer, bleach, and stabilizer, while the stop bath and fix come in liquid format. The kits contain the chemicals for a developer, stop bath, bleach, fix, and stabilizer. The Flic Film kits require 5 steps to develop a single round of film. And as if to only make things better, the Flic Film C41 and E6 kits are much cheaper than the other kits offered by the larger manufacturers. Many photographers have been seeking a kit with a separate bleach and flix because it allows for more creative control, better results, and more capacity over blix. Flic Film C41 kits are cheaper than standard C41 kits and have twice the rated capacity of a regular kit.įlic Film is bringing exactly what the market needed. The Flic Film C41 kits are high-quality, high-capacity color developing kits with separate bleach and fix, giving home developers the option to bleach bypass their film. But how do they compare to the kits by Arista, Cinestill, and Tetenal? I’ve developed 16 rolls using two Flic Film kits, and here are my thoughts so far. The company is offering both C41 (standard color film) and E6 (cine film) with separate bleach and fix in both 500ml (8-roll) capacity and 1L (16-roll) kits. That’s why it’s so exciting to see manufactures like Flic Film bringing the latest home color developing kits to the North American market. Kodak Flexicolor, which is the system labs use, is often extremely tough and expensive to get ahold of, making it inaccessible for most users. Most C41 kits come from the same manufacturer, are subject to sporadic shortages, and have a single blix formula instead of separate bleach and fix steps (like most labs use). There are few options on the market for developing color film at home.

Saturnalia winter solstice1/4/2024 This is the longest night of the year – once celebrated as “ Yule” by the pagan people of Northern Europe before it became Christmas. We are fast approaching the winter solstice for the Northern hemisphere, which takes place on December 21. The historic importance of the winter solstice may serve as a reminder that there is more to this season than shopping and luscious food. From the Neolithic to present times, the amount of sunlight we see in a day has had a profound impact on human culture. Today, it is often drowned out by materialistic substitutes, such as Black Friday, but in the West, it primarily lives on through Christmas. This global reverence of the rebirth of the sun throughout the ages gives us a sense of what profound spiritual significance the pre-modern peoples saw in this ritualistic cycle of life. In the Americas, the Mayans were keen observers of the heavens, and their pyramids incorporated various shadow patterns that only appear on the equinoxes and solstices. The Pyramids at Giza in ancient Egypt are another famous monument, which is so accurately aligned astronomically that even modern techniques often have trouble rivaling its precision. In Cambodia, the Angkor Wat temple complex has encoded in it many astronomical events, including the winter solstice. Stonehenge is the most famous, and even today, tourists and neo-pagans flock to this English site in December. We have few or no written records but know about them through temples and sacred architecture. Ancient MonumentsĪncient celebrations of the winter solstice predate both Yuletide and Saturnalia. Much later, Odin’s horse was replaced by reindeer, and Saint Nicholas was nicknamed Santa Claus in folklore. He was known for his kindness, and for giving gifts to the poor. He was part of the First Council of Nicaea, which selected the four canonical gospels in A.D. Nicholas was a bishop in what is today called Turkey. Later, when northern Europe was Christianized, Yule was adapted to the gospel of Christ, and Odin transmogrified into another caped and white-bearded hero: Saint Nicholas of Myra. Wearing a long cape, he rode his horse, Sleipnir, across the sky. It was centered around the white-bearded Norse god Odin, starting on the 21 st and ending on the 24 th. Yuletideįurther north a similar pagan Norse tradition was dedicated to another kind of celebration of winter solstice: Yule or Yuletide. The death and resurrection of the sun at winter solstice fit in with the general theme of Christ, and in the fourth century the Church moved the Sabbath to the day of the Sun – Sunday. The early Christians rejected this heathen festival, but as Christianity grew and became the official religion of the Roman Empire, it morphed into what we today know as Christmas. It was later extended all the way to December 25, which was the official day of the sun god Sol Invictus – the unconquered Sun. In ancient Rome, this annual renewal of light was celebrated in the festival called Saturnalia, beginning December 17 and originally ending on winter solstice. The answer is that the winter solstice marks the end of the descent into darkness and the beginning of a brighter future. Why on earth would anyone want to celebrate something as gloomy as that? Saturnalia It’s the longest and darkest night of the year, yet people from across the globe from many cultures and eras have revered this day as a time of spiritual significance. Winter solstice may seem like an odd day for festivity.

Labchart reader finding slope1/4/2024 For non-linear functions, the rate of change of a curve varies, and the derivative of a function at a given point is the rate of change of the function, represented by the slope of the line tangent to the curve at that point. While this is beyond the scope of this calculator, aside from its basic linear use, the concept of a slope is important in differential calculus. Given the points (3,4) and (6,8) find the slope of the line, the distance between the two points, and the angle of incline: m = Given two points, it is possible to find θ using the following equation: The above equation is the Pythagorean theorem at its root, where the hypotenuse d has already been solved for, and the other two sides of the triangle are determined by subtracting the two x and y values given by two points. Refer to the Triangle Calculator for more detail on the Pythagorean theorem as well as how to calculate the angle of incline θ provided in the calculator above. Since Δx and Δy form a right triangle, it is possible to calculate d using the Pythagorean theorem. It can also be seen that Δx and Δy are line segments that form a right triangle with hypotenuse d, with d being the distance between the points (x 1, y 1) and (x 2, y 2). In the equation above, y 2 - y 1 = Δy, or vertical change, while x 2 - x 1 = Δx, or horizontal change, as shown in the graph provided. The larger the value is, the steeper the line. Generally, a line's steepness is measured by the absolute value of its slope, m. The slope is represented mathematically as: m = Slope, sometimes referred to as gradient in mathematics, is a number that measures the steepness and direction of a line, or a section of a line connecting two points, and is usually denoted by m. In the case of a road, the "rise" is the change in altitude, while the "run" is the difference in distance between two fixed points, as long as the distance for the measurement is not large enough that the earth's curvature should be considered as a factor. Slope is essentially the change in height over the change in horizontal distance, and is often referred to as "rise over run." It has applications in gradients in geography as well as civil engineering, such as the building of roads.
